Colorado Avalanche's Winning Streak Continues! Highlights & Recap vs. Winnipeg Jets (2026)

Avalanche's Dominance Continues: 3-2 Win Over Jets on December 19, 2025

DENVER -- The Colorado Avalanche continued their impressive run with a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, extending their winning streak to four games. The Avalanche's early goals from Brent Burns and Martin Necas proved crucial, as they held on to secure the win.

Parker Kelly also contributed to the Avalanche's success, scoring his team's third goal. Since their last regulation loss to the New York Islanders on December 4, the Avalanche have been on an unstoppable streak, boasting a 6-0-1 record. Scott Wedgewood's 20 saves were instrumental in keeping the Avalanche's perfect home record intact.

With this win, the Avalanche's home dominance at Ball Arena reached new heights, as they improved to 14-0-2 this season. Their 16-game home point streak is now the fourth-longest in franchise history, and it's their longest since the 2021-22 season. The Avalanche's overall record of 25-2-7 has earned them 57 points, tying them with the 2022-23 Boston Bruins and 2008-09 San Jose Sharks for the second-most points in NHL history through 34 games.

Despite the loss, the Jets' Morgan Barron and Mark Scheifele kept the game competitive. Winnipeg's three-game losing streak continued, with Connor Hellebuyck making 24 saves. The Jets' comeback attempt began in the second period with a short-handed goal by Barron, who skillfully maneuvered past Wedgewood. However, the Avalanche's lead was restored in the third period by Kelly and Necas, who each scored a goal.

The game's turning point came when Scheifele reduced the deficit to one goal with a power-play goal, assisted by Gustav Nyquist. However, the Avalanche's Burns had already given them an early lead, and Necas doubled their advantage before the period ended. This win showcases the Avalanche's resilience and their ability to maintain a strong lead, even against determined opponents.

Looking ahead, the Jets will travel to Utah on Sunday to complete their three-game trip, while the Avalanche will face the Minnesota Wild on the same day.
