The election, which must be held at least every four years, comes just over a year since the last one, which resulted in a unique three-party coalition. Frederiksen, who has led Denmark since 2019, could secure her third term if she wins.
Campaigning has already begun, with political ads and leafleting taking center stage. Some, like Laura Beyer, a social media marketer, see Frederiksen's move as strategic: "Her support is up, so it's a smart choice." Beyer applauds Frederiksen's handling of the Greenland crisis, saying, "I don't think anyone could have done it better."
