Bold move: Liam Knight looks set for a return to the NRL after Hull FC granted him a release for compassionate reasons. Knight is determined to rejoin the Australian system and continue his career in his home country.
Knight broke into first grade with Manly in 2016, then went on to play for Canberra, South Sydney, and the Canterbury-B Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, racking up a total of 83 NRL appearances.
Most of his time came with the Rabbitohs, where he made 66 appearances. His spell with Hull FC in the Super League yielded 22 games before the two sides agreed to part ways and Knight’s return home.
Hull FC issued a statement confirming the release on compassionate grounds, noting that Knight will depart the club and head back to Australia. The club thanked him for his contributions over the past year and wished him well for his future in the sport.
Knight developed through Manly’s junior system, featuring in their NYC side that reached the Grand Final in 2015, underscoring a strong foundation that helped shape his pro career.
