NAPA Racing UK Unveils Saloon Ford Focus for BTCC 2026: What Changes with the Titanium (2026)

NAPA Racing UK is set to make waves in the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with a bold move: introducing a saloon-based Ford Focus Titanium model. This exciting development marks a new chapter for the team, as they aim to bring a fresh and innovative car to the BTCC grid.

The team's driver lineup for the 2026 season is an impressive one, featuring four-time champion Ash Sutton, title contender Dan Cammish, race winner Sam Osborne, and debutant Lewis Selby. NAPA Racing UK has been transparent about its desire to introduce a new machine to the UK's premier motorsport series, and this move is a significant step towards that goal.

One of the key factors in this decision is the new 2027+ homologation requirements, which allow the use of cars not currently sold in the UK. By bringing forward this element by a year, the team can utilize the saloon version of the Focus, a move that was unanimously approved by all existing teams and TOCA. This change is a strategic move, as the saloon version offers a unique opportunity to enhance the team's performance.

The new car is a evolution of the hatchback version of the Focus, which has guided NAPA Racing UK to a total of 36 wins and six titles since their debut in 2022. The front three-quarters of the new car share a striking resemblance to the old car, along with the wheelbase, providing a sense of continuity. However, the rear of the car has undergone significant changes, with new bodywork forming a sleeker, more aerodynamically efficient look that will help reduce drag and improve performance.

The team evaluated several different options, but the decision to remain with the Ford marque was a strategic one, ensuring the continuation of their long-standing and successful association with engine builders, Mountune. This partnership will be crucial in the development and performance of the new car.

All four cars will undergo a shakedown in the coming days, followed by the official championship pre-season tests at Croft and Brands Hatch. Antonio Carrozza, NAPA Racing UK Lead Engineer, expressed his excitement, highlighting the team's goal to reduce aerodynamic drag and the fine-tuning required to achieve championship-level performance.

Pete Osborne, Alliance Racing Team Owner, shared his enthusiasm, emphasizing the team's hard work behind the scenes to transform the Focus into a virtually new car. With a scheduled test program in March, the drivers and engineers will work together to understand the changes and optimize the new car's performance.

Steve Richardson, Managing Director of NAPA UK / Alliance Automotive Group UK&IE Ltd, expressed his delight with the progress made during the off-season. He emphasized the importance of continuing the successful partnership with Ford and Mountune, setting the stage for an exciting season on track.

As the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season commences at Donington Park on 18/19 April, NAPA Racing UK is poised to make a significant impact with their innovative and performance-focused Ford Focus Titanium model. This move is sure to spark excitement and curiosity among fans and enthusiasts alike, as the team embarks on a new and exciting chapter in the BTCC.
