The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority is set to unveil its new headquarters in Karatu, a state-of-the-art facility constructed at a cost of 11.7 billion/-. This move comes as a strategic decision to relocate from the heart of the conservancy, aiming to minimize human impact and preserve the pristine environment. The new building, located on the outskirts of Karatu, is nearly complete, featuring staff offices, meeting rooms, and residential accommodations for senior officials. The initiative was presented to the newly appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, who emphasized the importance of embracing modern digital technologies in conservation efforts and managing human-wildlife interactions. Despite the low season, Tanzania's tourism sector remains robust, attracting a substantial number of international visitors. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, renowned for its wildlife and historical sites, attracts an average of 500,000 visitors annually, showcasing the country's appeal to global travelers.
