A Turkish diplomatic source revealed that initial proposals for joint management and shared high-level meetings were discussed with Australia at the UN General Assembly meetings. But a letter from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan rejected these agreements, citing UN rules and concerns about diverting the COP's Pacific-focused agenda.
